What's changed since the last article on roles
In article #7 we covered the general role model for a media-buying team — five access levels, from Owner to Viewer. Since then, AdFleet itself gained two things the general model didn't have: a sixth role, Tech, and a personal daily budget limit per member. Here's specifically that — the concrete product implementation, not the general theory.
Six roles, not five
Owner manages the plan, billing and the team's time zone — sees everything. Head does the same minus plan and billing, and can't grant the Owner role. Team lead launches ads, edits presets and creatives, connects their own tokens, and can delete an object in Stats — sees their own accounts and their buyers' accounts. Buyer does the same within the accounts assigned to them, but without the right to delete objects in Stats. Viewer only looks, changes nothing.
The sixth role is Tech: not a "lite Owner," but a mirror-image split of rights. Tech connects and maintains tokens, Business Managers, profile proxies, pixels and Pages, assigns accounts to members, and sets up tracker integrations — across the whole team, not just their own accounts. At the same time, Tech never launches ads, never touches budgets or pauses, never manages people or roles, and never sees billing. This split was built specifically for the case where a separate specialist (in-house or outsourced) handles the technical setup and has no reason to ever see invoices or be able to drain the budget.
Per-member budget limit
For any team member, the Owner or Head can set a "Daily budget limit" — after that, a launch or a budget increase that would push that specific person's daily total past their limit simply doesn't go through. This isn't a team-wide cap, it's a personal ceiling on each individual — a buyer who mistakenly (or on their last day before leaving) tries to push a budget above the usual can't do it alone, without the Owner or Head raising their limit first.
What else this split changes in practice
"View as a member" lets the Owner and Head see AdFleet exactly as any Team lead, Buyer or Viewer on the team sees it (a Team lead sees it as their own buyers do); it's strictly view-only, up to 60 minutes, with the one allowed action being "Pause" an account for emergencies — starting and stopping is logged in the team journal with a reason. When inviting a member, the Tech role sits in the same picker as the rest — the invite link is valid for 7 days, and the email isn't sent automatically yet (no mail provider), so you copy and send the link yourself. The last Owner can't be demoted or removed — a team can never be left without a single person who can reach the plan and billing.
Team starts at $149/mo for 5 seats — every role besides Owner is a Team-plan feature; on Solo, one person sees everything themselves. Try it free for 3 days, no card.
