"Change budget"
- The step is 1 to 100% up or 1 to 90% down. Campaigns and ad sets only, not ads.
- A "Ceiling" (for raises) or "Floor" (for cuts) is required: the daily budget never goes above the ceiling or below the floor. The minimum is 1 unit of the account's currency.
- "No more often than" is how often one object's budget may change: every check (the default), 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours or once a day. At any frequency the budget never goes above the ceiling or below the floor; the interval counts across all rules of both kinds, Meta and AdFleet. "Once a day" means the team's calendar day.
- Budget rules run only in AdFleet, at any frequency: one interval count and one "at most 5 changes per rule a day" limit. They are never sent to Facebook, so conditions only Meta counts (results, cost per result, frequency, lifetime) aren't available in a budget rule.
- A Meta budget rule made in Ads Manager can only be switched on or deleted here. It can't sit on the same account and level as an AdFleet rule: saving or switching on gives "already has a budget rule of the other kind". If the Meta rule there was switched on in Ads Manager, the AdFleet rule waits and leaves budgets alone.
- The ceiling is checked against the daily limit of whoever switched the rule on: on save and again before every raise — lower the limit and the next raise won't go through.
- In AdFleet rules: the budget is read from Facebook right before the change, lifetime budgets are never touched, at most 5 budget changes per rule per day.
- When Facebook's load on the account is 90% or more, budget raises and switch-ons wait for the next pass; a pause never waits.
"What would fire now"
The button in the form (and "Dry run" on a saved rule) shows which objects would match right now — on Stats numbers, saving and changing nothing. Up to 5 accounts and 50 objects. Conditions only Meta can count are listed separately and honestly — they can't be checked in advance.
"Trigger log"
Meta rule runs (AdFleet pulls their history regularly and on "Refresh from Meta") and the AdFleet engine's actions per object: status, budget before and after, "Fired on:" with the numbers. The latest 60 entries, filterable by rule. Runs from the last 24 hours also go to notifications.
"Outcome unknown — check Ads Manager" means Facebook's answer was ambiguous; check the object by hand.
